Our compact marine air conditioners are designed to fit tight spaces—checking technical specifications ensures the perfect match.
There is no single “one-size-fits-all” seawater pump for marine air conditioners. The correct pump size depends on three factors: the air-conditioning unit, your specific installation, and the pump’s performance characteristics.
Each model lists a “Water Flow” value in the Technical Specifications tab. This rating refers to the required water flow at the unit outlet, not the pump size itself.
Because water flow is reduced by hose length, fittings, and vertical lift (head pressure), the pump selected must be capable of delivering the required flow at your actual installation head. Always reference the pump’s performance curve to confirm this.

If you are running more than one air conditioner:
Tip: If your installation involves unusually long hose runs, multiple elevation changes, or shared manifolds, consult the pump flow curve or a marine HVAC professional to ensure proper sizing.
We know space on any marine vessel is limited and valuable! Our units are designed to be among the most compact in their class, but every installation space is different. Always measure your available space before purchasing.
Refer to the “Dimensions & Drawings” tab under each model for exact measurements, including overall size and service clearances. Confirm that there is adequate room not only for the unit itself, but also for hose connections, wiring, airflow, and future maintenance access.

Each unit is pre-charged, and includes the core components required to operate the system:
Installation-specific items — such as seawater pumps, plumbing components, ducting, venting, grilles, and fittings — vary by vessel and layout and are not included. These items must be selected separately based on your setup.
If you are replacing an existing marine air-conditioning unit, most installations can reuse the existing set up.

No. These units are designed exclusively for marine applications and are not supported for use outside of a marine environment.
Each marine air conditioner requires hundreds of gallons per hour of water flow from an open loop system. Water tanks, pools, tubs, etc. will not work.
They are also not UL-listed for use outside of a marine environment and are not approved for non-marine installations.
Generator size depends on your specific MarinAire model, voltage, and what other onboard loads you plan to run at the same time. We recommend consulting a qualified marine electrician for final generator selection and installation. You can run MarinAire on DC (battery) power by using a pure sine wave inverter to convert your battery bank’s DC into AC power. Because inverter sizing, wiring, and battery performance vary by installation, we strongly recommend consulting a qualified marine electrician for accurate system design and verification. Very quiet, it’s working great !
This unit was easy to put in and when we fired it up it was so much quieter than our old one. One of the best things is the thermostat has wifi. Now we turn it on before we go to the marina and the boat is cool when we arrive.
Buying the unit was easy and it was delivered to my door as promised.I just wish I had done more research on replacing the old unit. This unit was a bit larger but I was lucky there was plenty of room. The unit itself works well and the touch screen is easy to use. All in all it has been a positive experience.

unit is great nice and quiet, screen is hard to see in sunlight, my control panel is right near the door in sunlight.

I’ve installed the unit and it seems to be running on a low suction pressure left it in dehumidifier mode through the week and I had an error code for low pressure or was it below 30° quail also, the keypad is always reading 95% humidity never changes

Very easy to install, replacing of the old unit. The thermostat having the wi-fi feature allows me to cool boat down before i get there. I can barely hear it run, mainly just hear the air flow a little. The old unit would wake you out of your sleep when it kicked on, or you couldn’t hear the TV. The air filter is a plus being a cleanable type and easy to get out. So far everything has been great with the Marinaire unit. I had a friend get one of these and when i heard it i was sold on the low sound of unit and had to have one.
Let me start off that this is the only company I buy marine ACs from. This is the 4th purchase I've made from them. I've had numerous boats all 4 of them are still running. The 16k puts out twice the CFM as their competitors. I can hang meat in my boat dead heat of summer at noon. I will say the unit is a smidge bigger so make sure you measure the area but well made product will never purchase another brand
Although I didn’t install it because my old AC came back from the dead, the customer service was great and due to the features and price of the unit, I will definitely buy it the next time I need an AC.

Replaced a 15 year old Cruisair (Dometic) unit. Neption touch screen is a single cable connection, so much better than the 20 wires and bus for the Cruisair controls. The new A/C uses much less amperage at both start up and during use. Tool about 4 hours to remove old system and install new MarinAire. I did not need to change out the duct or hoses since my current ones fit the new unit.
I was very impressed by a phone call to check my order before it was shipped. They made sure I had ordered the right thing. It arrived well packaged in just a few days. Install went very easily, even for me at 73 years young. It's only been running a couple days, and is working well on our 38 ft live aboard sail boat.
Product arrived well packaged. We replaced a much older unit that was on its last legs. It was a drop in replacement. The adjustable outlet made the fit very easy. We simply removed the blower and the unit slipped through the opening.
We have since used the cooling and heating functions. The thermostat controller works well. For added control we will soon add the remote sensor which was included.
I will add it was a very nice surprise that Marinair called after placing the order to ensure we ordered the correct unit.
